The Network consists of one representative from each First Nation Community in the Atlantic Region and one representative from each First Nation Organisation interested in environmental issues. 

The Confederacy of Mainland Mi’kmaq, located in Millbrook, Nova Scotia, is presently acting as coordinator for AFNEN activities.  If you would like to get more involved in the Network and its activities, please feel free to contact us.

Committees and Members

The Network has a planning committee that meets regularly throughout the year.  The following organizations are currently members of the planning committee:

Environmental Issues Subcommittees are formed from time to time to deal with particular environmental issues.  These subcommittees consist of interested network members and organizations.

The Network consists of members of Atlantic First Nation communities, including youth and elders, councillors, First Nation staff (Band council staff), as well as First Nation organizations.   If you or your organization is interested in becoming more involved in the Network, please contact us.
